I just finished trying out the Lens-Baby. There are a couple of items to be aware of - first the mount doesn't come with lenses, you need to order those additionally. Second you should be experienced with your camera and basic concepts like aperture (f-stop), and ISO speed because you have to manually select your aperture and manually focus (I also manually set my speed).
I purchased both the wide angle and macro lenses for the mount. I was really surprised at how sharp and good the photos turned out. I thought it would be good fun and maybe create some special effects but was really amazed at the quality of the photos.
This will definitely be a lens I use often!

Overall this is a fair package. The case was a bit smaller than I'd hoped and the 28-80mm isn't quite the quality of the 18-70mm that came with my A200. The 100-300mm, however, was worth the price of the package alone. Works great by itself in auto-focus mode. I also tried it out with a 2X teleconverter. The 2X that I have will not use the auto-focus on lenses >f4, so I was forced to use the manual focus, which is not a big deal. Great photos, but the manual focus is a bit sensitive. It took some practice to get the focus just right. Overall, I'd suggest this package to any serious hobbiest

Easy to use. Not too easy to carry with you in the camera bag due to bulk. You need a tripod to use. Manual focus. I get great details on the moon. Also able to use for birds.

I love this lens just wish I had gotten it sooner. I am still learning how to best use it for action shots, but right now it's far better than any other lens I have for that purpose. It takes beautiful landscape and portrait photos. Focus is quick. Now, looking at the next lens I can add to my collection.

I've loved my Evolt Camera and its lenses -- but I've wished that I didn't have carry my two Olympus lenses with me when I was going to be taking images at both shorter and longer focal lengths. Having received the Olympus Zuiko 18mm-180mm ultra zoom lens (which is the equivalent of 35mm-350mm) as a present this Christmas, I no longer have to. This lightweight all-digital lens, made especially for the Olympus four thirds system, receives very sharp, very colorful, distortion-free images. Its weight is a little heavier than either of the two separate lenses that came with the camera and it's not quite as fast a lens. However, neither of these differences diminishes the value this great lens has afforded me. If you are like me and have been inconvenienced by having to lug around all your lenses to assure yourself of being able to capture all the images you want, then the Olympus Zuiko 18mm-180mm lens is for you! I think you'll be very happy with the high quality results you'll get and I know you'll be happy with the convenience it will provide. Enjoy!

A very poor choice for a lens. Would not recommend this lens unless it comes with a generous return policy.
Lens is not sharp & has very poor contrast.

This lens really opens up the creative possibilities of the Lensbaby. It's also great if you think the Lensbaby by itself isn't quite weird-looking enough.
That said, it's not a dramatic wide-angle. And if you want macro I'd recommend the more useful Lensbaby macro kit instead.
The only downside to this lens is that you have to unscrew it to get at the aperture (at least with the 3G, I'm not sure about other models), but there's really nothing they could do to fix this.
All in all this is a well-made, high-quality piece of glass. Highly recommended.

I do real estate photography and the 11 - 18 is essential for interior work. I've been using the lens for about 2 years now and like it pretty well. The major problem I have with it is color fringing along lines of high contrast. The lens also suffers from some minor fisheye distortion in the 11 - 13 range, but it is easily remedied in the digital darkroom. It has less distortion in the 14 - 18 range than my Nikkor 18 - 70 does at 18. It is not a good choice for people photography. I consider it a good value for the money.

I already own Zuiko's excellent f2.8 300mm fixed lens, Olympus 300mm f/2.8 Super Telephoto ED Lens for Olympus Digital SLR Cameras. It's a superb lens, and works very well with both Zuiko's 1.4X teleconverter, Olympus EC14 1.4x Teleconverter Lens (for at f/2.8 on E-System lenses), and its 2.0X teleconverter, Olympus Zuiko EC-20 2x Teleconverter for Olympus Digital SLR Cameras.
But there are situations in which you need more flexibility; the bird or the animal is too close for a fixed 300mm, for example. So I purchased the 90-250mm. And after two weeks of field photography, I have to say it's a decidedly mixed bag.
On its own, without a teleconverter, the lens is good. For a wide range, powerful telephoto, it gathers an impressive amount of light, and has the same f2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range. It's simply not as razor sharp as the fixed 300mm, but it's still quite sharp. The teleconverters are a different story, however. The 1.4X is adequate, unless you want exceptional detail. With the 2.0X teleconverter, though, results are generally unacceptable for my work. I suppose that the additional lensing required for a zoom cross some tipping point.
And the lens is definitely slower-focusing than my 300mm on my E-3 body. Birds in flight are possible with the lens by itself, but combined with a teleconverter, the lens can't keep up, even in bright light.
Which leaves the lens in a special, fairly niche: if you need just a 90-250mm, wide aperture lens, this is a fine product. If you are looking for a bit more flexibility, or if you are photographing rapidly moving targets, perhaps not. And teleconverters significantly impair sharpness, especially the 2.0X. It will have a place in my camera bag - a large space. But it's simply not as useful as I hoped.

Satisfactory mega-zoom. Image quality is not perfect but adequate. Lens body does not come across as professional quality (zoom is sloppy). Manual focus only. Teleconverter is not that great. Works better with teleconverters that are not the same as the one supplied with the lens. For the money, it is hard to beat if you want a mega-zoom lens.

I am not going to lie, this isnt the best of lenses...
But for the cost, it is well worth it. I bought this lens used off ebay, and only planned on using it 3 times a year. One of those better to have it, and not need it, then need it and not have it.
I tried it out, and it worked great for taking pictures of the moon. I uploaded one on here, so look at the top under customer photos. I used it with a Canon XT camera, and a wired remote to elimate camera shake.
I highly recommend getting a wired, or wireless remote...
I used it with the 1000mm doubler, and a tripod. That far out, breathing on it will make it shake.
Unless you want to pay $400 for a 500/1000mm lens that you will only use two times a year. This is well worth it...
p.s. I have seen many negative reviews for this lens on other websites... The main problem, the people leaving the negative reviews never used the lens. They were judging it on cost, and company.
This is the only review, so I hope this covers everything.

This is my go to Zoom lens. I use it with the 1.4 tele conv. One thing, It's a Hog for it's range.
If you really want to see photos taken with this lens you can see my photos at photoshop.com (callofthewild) Most are taken with this lens.
4 out of 5 due to size and focus issues. You have to use a tripod....
I'd suggest if you're really needing a true Zoom lens to save your money and buy a 300mm, 400mm or 600mm. If I had to do it all over again, I'd save up and go with a 400 or 600mm.

Pros:
Ideal long portrait lens on full frame
good medium telephoto on DX
Cons:
not af-s.
tends to require a half click to the forground from nutral on the dc ring for maximum sharpness(havent been abel to confirm if this is typical or just my copy).
An excelent lens. wonderfull bokeh for portraits and incredibly sharp. maximum quality is generaly at f 2.8 and down and f4 f5.6 is were your gonna want to be. with dc incredible bokeh can be achived at even f5.6.
My only caution is that this lens is highly specialized and is designed for a large studio or out door. On DX it is too long for portraits and to short for wildlife smaller than a cat. for DX users a 85mm f/1.4 is more usable. Definatly a must have for FX portaiture but keep in mind its a thousand dollars in the camera bag for a lens that isnt going to get much play time.

You definitely have to use a tripod and keep it very still. The quality of the picture was not great, but it was what I expected from an inexpensive lens. For what I would use it for it works perfectly fine. I don't think it will be very effective for action shots because it doesn't do well with any movement; although, the description says action/sports shots...I haven't tried, but with any movement the picture blurred quite a bit. It should be used for those wanting a closer shot of stills that doesn't mind a little less in quality, but a lot less in price.

The lens is great. I do a lot of animal and nature shots. To get good pictures of bears, moose, etc. you need a good telephoto lens. For the price, this is a really good lens.
I would suggest a stable tripod. I purchased one for about $ 50. Works a treat

I love my Tamron 17-50 f2.8. It's my standard lens on my D300. It focuses fast and accurately - no over / under focusing that others have had. The fact that it is f2.8 right though is fabulous and keeps my flash use to a minimum. I also get great close-ups (the macro is so good I rarely use my Nikkor 60mm Micro) and I can open it right up to get a tiny DoF. This means that I've been able to dump my 50mm f1.4 since the 2.8 is wide enough. I compared to the Nikon and was tempted to go native since all my other lenses (12-24; 70-300VR and 60mm Micro) are all Nikon. But this lens bowled me over with great crisp images, its light weight and low cost. Heck, the Nikon is not three times as good, but it is three times as expensive! My only real complaint is build quality - it's not bad, but it's not up to Nikon standards. But then again, it's one third the cost. Did I mention earlier that this Tamron is great value? Buy this fella and use the change to get a nice ultra wide like the Nikon 12-24 (my other favourite lens).
I feel really sorry for folks who have had the focussing issue - that's bad news. All I can say is that mine is fine and I love it so much it stays on all the time.

this a great telephoto for beginner photographers, especially the price.
it is not the highest quality lens on the market, but I have gotten some good shots from it. As with any long lens, you really need to use a tripod for this one. Don't let the f-stop dials fool you, like it did on a previous review i read, there are two f-stop dials. the one furthest from the camera is a dial that changes the f-stop in stops (8, 11, 16, 22, & 32). The second dial closest to the camera (O <---> C which means "open or closed") gives you everything in between, to fine tune your f-setting. pretty versatile for such a inexpensive lens. Anyone that complains about this lens is probably a professional who is used to using $3,000 lenses & therefore has the right. But if your an amateur or a even pro on a budget, go ahead & get this lens. For under a hundred bucks, why not?

The 35mm f1.4 Nikkor is the only non-AF Nikon lens I own and I've had it for many years, perhaps 20 or more. I've been shooting professionally a photojournalist since 1960 and haven't retired yet. I own perhaps 12 Nikon lenses and 4 bodies, including an F5, F6, and D-200 and have a D3 on order. All my lenses are current versions except this one which I've always said I would never sell because of its quality and speed. It also has that elusive "bokeh" when shot at f1.4 that just brings great eye appeal to any subject matter. [I was looking for something else when this item caught my eye and felt I had to add a comment because it is one lens I treasure.]
