Rokinon 500mm telephoto lens review
As a pro photographer for over 3 years. In the two-year I purchased the Rokinon lens 500mm ED glass lens to test it. After I bought it I could not get enough. When back out and bought the whole line of prime lenses after getting results and info not known to me many years earlier. Rokinon seemed to be an off brand to many non pro however known to many pro shop as a quality thoird party lens. The lenses is Multi coated ED lenses and turns out to be well built quality lenses although they are third party manufactures In Korea. I highly recommend Rokinon to shutterbugs as well as newbie pros to do consider this a quality lenses at a very reasonable price. Don't waste your money on mane brand lenses where the cost keeps rising due to misinformaion and low education in the lens world. In this case you really get what you did not pay for! It's a steal. It comes with a t-mount for Nikon AI and adapters for canon however you must specify which camera you have whether canon or Nikon. Pictures come out pretty sharp since it is made with ED glass just like the newer canon or Nikon lenses people are spending bundles of money on. It took me 3 years to figure this out. However better late than never! Rokinon has both mirror lens and telephoto long lens made by the same company of Canon and Nikon according to the rep which whom I spoke with via telephone. The Rokinon lenses are light made of aluminum meaning they have long life compared to plastic lenses made today by Nikon and the Rokinon are very inexpensive for the quality as far as sharpness and focal length with no difference compared to many name brands telephotos on the market including Canon and Nikon in it's category. However could have beaten Nikons top of the line telephoto lens if they had If you bought a Rokinon zoom lens you have no problems at all. However, at fixed f8, all you have to do is set your camera to manual, on DSLR's select an ISO and then just adjust the shutter speed for best exposure. Focusing on a subject, especially a moving one will take a lot of practice if you are new at this the outcome of Rokinon lenses are all smiles:) once you had some practice. How is the picture result as far as quality of sharpness and overall photo quality compared to any other Canon telephoto lens on the market today? The lens is a non-cemented achromat and I give it a 10 on a scale from 1-10. If it were auto focus it wouldn't have been close to the manual asking price for the lengths that this beauty can go. Focusing is smooth all the way? Is there any lack of a diaphragm with a camera mount? No, it does not.

What's Rokinon's website?
Rokinon doesn't have a website enthusiasts other than for there redistributions centers and chosen stores and website mostly in Canada since they are third party and don't want orders to be dropped on Nikon and canon brand lens so they ship the lenses directly to the distributor exclusively to redistributed to redistributions like [...] and there main exclusive distributor which is called Elite Brands Inc.- [...].
There are also authentic distributors called resellers on eBay and other website that sell [...] located in the Northwest United States. However personally I prefer to get them on eBay because that's where the deals are. Just make sure to check feedback to make sure the seller your getting it from is an authentic redistribution that way you will get warrantee if you take care of it. Check out seller user name "bestpriceoptcs" for the lowest prices. Back to warrantee info, if you are planning to drop the Rokinon into a trash compactor mistakenly or off a cliff

Some where, then I suggest you fill out the warrantee card that comes in the box and ship out the card speedy delivery (that's priority mail:), that way your sure to get a warrantee right away, in the event you were to drop your lens in a trash compactor or something so detrimental to damage the Rokinon lens. Other than that you have 30 days to mail the warrantee card to the warrantee center who will take good care of you.:)
Rokinon lenses can use freehand as compared to phoenix that cannot use freehand and must use a tripod. Remote features help with camera shake if you don't have a steady hand like mine. Using a sturdy self-standing monopod would be sufficient since the lens is lightweight. Great for landscape, astrological/lunar, and wildlife on all Spheres, this lens where meant for photographers from all walks of life. My only pet peeve is if the manufacturer had only added a 2" extra length in the internally moving tube beyond the maximum zooming range would have added enough stability to render the lens far superior than any Nikon and canon current configuration in it's lens category today and would be the number one manual lens on the market. If it had auto focus no one but the rich would be able to afford them. I am really a Nikonian and Rokinon was one my first off the market third party lens before I started investing in more. I am still a Nikon lover but venturing over to more inexpensive quality lenses made by same companies making quality lenses. "Rokinon mother company " makes the best refraction telescopes available today.. That's a memo.
